Since the October flood strike in Hainan, Chairman Liu has attached great importance to local farmers and customers, and gave approval instruction to a donation of RMB￥1 million yuan.

November 7, the donation ceremony was held at Wenchang, Hainan. Officials from Hainan Fishery & Ocean Department and management of Hainan Tongwei attended the ceremony, and distributed the donation to 30 customers that were affected by the flood.

After years of efforts, Tongwei has built four aquaculture industrial chains which include Hainan Tongwei, Hainan Dahai, Hainan Food, and Oceanic First. April, 2010, Vice President Xi Jinping paid a visit to Tongwei (Hainan) Aquaculture Food Company, and gave high credit for Tongwei’s advanced mode and food safety in green cultivation and eco-breeding. November, 7 -12, CNTV’s Pioneer China program made specific report on Tongwei’s subsidiaries on its aquaculture industrial chain in Hainan province.

Tongwei has been actively involved in charity and public welfare establishments: 1992, “Tongwei – Hope Project Award Fund” was founded. It has provided financial assistance to about 2,000 poor students and excellent teachers in poverty-stricken areas in Sichuan including Liangshanzhou, Bazhong, Guangyuan, and Dazhou; “Tongwei Aquaculture Education Award Fund” was founded. Tongwei donated ￥1 million RMB to Sichuan Agricultural University for its teaching building construction; 1998, Tongwei donated ￥ 3.2 million RMB for the flood-stricken Hunan and Hubei provinces; Tongwei sponsored scientific arctic expedition; In 2007, “China Siyuan Program• Sunshine Project” launched by China Democratic National Construction Association was initiated. This program aims to send high-quality, high-efficiency and eco-friendly household electricity to underdeveloped regions, especially densely inhabited areas of ethnic minorities. For this goal, Tongwei budgets an annual fund of 5 million RMB for 10 consecutive years for scientific solar energy research and new products R &D. On May 12th, 2008, Tongwei offered 12.5 million RMB to Wenchuan County in Sichuan Province right after the 8-magnitude earthquake. Up to now, Tongwei’s total value of donation has exceeded ￥200 million RMB.
