The Technology Center of Tongwei Co., Ltd. has fully initiated its technical research and development lately. The Technology Center consists of Aquaculture Research Institute, Special Shrimp Feed Research Institute, Livestock Feed Research Institute, Poultry Feed Research Institute, Pharmaceutical Research Institute, Tongwei Aquaculture Science and Technology Park, and Tongwei Aquaculture Project Center.  

The Center invests over dozens of million RMB and conducts over 200 scientific experiments each year with the fruits of over 100 research findings and 300 research reports. Headed by Mr. Liu Hanyuan, the research team of an average age of 35 has over 500 technicians, over 100 of which have obtained Masters and Doctoral Degree and over 150 were senior experts.

Since its establishment, scientific researches of animal nutrition, environmental protection, industrialized fish farming as well as sustainable development of breeding and culture industry have been carried out. The center strives for developing industry-leading level aquaculture, livestock and poultry feed products with international standards, and cultivating famous new varieties of premium quality. Tongwei Aquaculture feed has captured Chinese market for 18 consecutive years.

Also, the Center carries out systematic researches on major and normal disease preventions in animal nutrition, and has breakthrough achievements in immunostimulants, prohibited drugs (antibiotics, sedatives) alternatives R&D.

At present, the Center has developed a complete new technology and new products research and development system that covers from evaluation, research, small and medium-scale pilot schemes to mass production. Tongwei Testing Center has passed national laboratory accreditation, which means its testing reports are recognized in 58 countries and regions in the world.

Furthermore, Tongwei attaches great importance to transferring the research fruits to productive forces with the transferring platform and channel of Tongwei high end technology forum. The 2010 Tongwei Fisheries Technology Forum was held in Beijing on May, 18 in Beijing and on June,10 in Yangzhou.

With the strong R&D support, Tongwei Co., Ltd. innitated Gold Card Pork Project in 2007, which is the only agricultural project among the four major national gold card projects. Tongwei applies RFID technique to its breeding process for Gold Card Pork. The stored information includes sow line and boar line for the piglets, immunization information, growth cycle, slaughter process information, quarantine, as well as current position, status, price and production number of products. This not only enables consumers to clearly know about the product they purchase, but also facilitates problem solving process, if any.
